How do I contact you?

Can I top-up or increase my investment?

Where your Plan includes an Investment Individual Savings Account (ISA) you can make additional regular or single contributions to it, provided you don’t go above the current year’s ISA allowance.

For Additional Single Contributions you must make a contribution of £250 or more. Please complete our Additional Investment Form and send it to us with a cheque made payable to “SFPL” for the additional contribution.

For Additional Regular Contributions, you must make a contribution of at least £25 a month. Please complete our Additional Investment Form and send it to us.

Doing these will incur additional charges relating to the top-up contribution. Please see our charges insert here for details.

What is the current Individual Savings Account (ISA) annual allowance?

The annual ISA subscription allowance is currently £20,000 per year.

This means you can contribute up to £1,666.66 a month into your ISA.

How do I sign up for online statements?

You can sign up for online statements by submitting the form found here:

You’ll then be able to log in and see your annual statements online. 

My Plan is about to mature what options do I have?

Where your Plan contains an Investment ISA you can choose to keep the monies invested with us, transfer the ISA to another provider or encash the ISA. Before you make a withdrawal from your ISA we recommend you seek professional financial advice as you will lose its tax efficient status upon its encashment.

All protection policies will cease on your maturity date and you will no longer be covered by them.

I’ve recently changed my address, how should I inform you?

You can tell us over the phone by calling 0330 123 9938 or send us a letter signed by the Plan holder to SFPL, PO Box 1010, St Albans, Herts, AL1 9NB.

I’ve recently changed my name, how should I inform you?

You’ll need to send us a certified copy [witnessed and signed by a professional person] of your marriage certificate or deed poll to SFPL, PO Box 1010, St Albans, Herts, AL1 9NB.

How do I make a protection claim?

You, your financial advisor or the executor of your estate will need to call us on 0330 123 9938 and we will send the forms needed to make a claim.

Can I alter the amount of protection within my Plan?

If your circumstances change you can request to change the level of cover your Plan provides. If you would like to receive an illustration for a new level of cover please call us on 0330 123 9938.

Where you are looking to increase your cover this may be subject to underwriting, please check your Terms & Conditions for details. Please be aware that ‘unemployment cover’ cannot be increased.

Can I cancel my policy?

You can cancel your Plan by sending us a signed request to SFPL, PO Box 1010, St Albans, Herts, AL1 9NB. Once cancelled any insurance will cease and you will not be protected.

Can I temporarily suspend payments?

If you have paid a minimum of 24 regular subscriptions, you can ask us to suspend any regular payments. This is known as a Payment Holiday.

During the Payment Holiday no investment will be made into the Plan and any unemployment and Plan Subscription Cover will be suspended. Your other selected protection benefits will be maintained by encashing part of your investment to cover the cost of the premium.

Taking a Payment Holiday will affect your Plan’s ability to meet its projected maturity benefit.

Can I make a partial withdrawal?

Where your Plan includes an investment ISA you can make a written request to withdraw a minimum of £500 from your Plan. Making a withdrawal will affect the Plan’s ability to meet its projected maturity benefit.

Upon receipt of your written instruction, a payment will be made to you within 10 working days of the dealing day following receipt of your instruction. Before you make a withdrawal from your ISA we recommend you seek professional financial advice as you will lose the tax efficient status of monies withdrawn from the ISA.

How do I obtain a valuation?

For Plans which contain an investment element you can call us on 0330 123 9938 to get an up-to-date valuation of your Plan.

Can you give me a projected maturity valuation?

Where your Plan includes an Investment ISA you can request a projected valuation by calling us on 0330 123 9938 or by writing to us at SFPL, PO Box 1010, St Albans, Herts, AL1 9NB.

Can I switch my investments?

Where your Plan includes an Investment ISA you may switch all or part of your holdings. Instructions should be made in writing and the switch will be then be carried out at the next dealing date.

You may redirect your monthly payments to a different fund at any time. Please note that there could be a charge for switching or redirecting and you should refer to your specific Key Features and Terms and Conditions.

I have a complaint, who should I contact?

If you are not satisfied with any SFPL product or service we have a complaint handling procedure that you can use to resolve such matters, for further information please contact us via email support@sfpl.co.uk , phone 0330 123 9938 or by writing to Synergy Financial Products Limited, PO Box 1010, St Albans, Herts, AL1 9NB. SFPL is covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service.

If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may be entitled to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
